Semantic 3D Understanding | Isabel Tahir (SE3 Labs)
At the Berlin Security Conference 2025, Isabel Tahir, Manager Government Partnerships & Strategy at SE3 Labs, spoke with Tanja Klement from Behörden Spiegel about how SE3 uses artificial intelligence to generate a three-dimensional operational picture from spatial data. Tahir explains how autonomous reconnaissance missions, primarily conducted with drones, collect image data that is reconstructed into a 3D environment. By integrating computer vision with large language models, SE3 adds a semantic layer that enables advanced analysis, including terrain assessment and automated route planning for ground vehicles. She emphasized that the system operates reliably in GPS-denied environments through visual positioning and self-localization, a capability already tested successfully during Bundeswehr exercises under jamming conditions. Continuous participation in military exercises and ongoing testing in Ukraine ensure that SE3’s solutions address real operational requirements.
